Locked in: Date announced for 2024 Genesee Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — Longer days, warmer temps, and major dates getting announced on the FLX Tour: That’s how you know summer has arrived.

Tour officials announced Thursday morning the date for this year’s Genesee Invitational. The tradition continues with the two-man best ball format, a beloved contest with a storied history. The 2024 Genesee Invitational will take place on Sunday, August 25 with the first tee time set at 9:30 a.m.

According to sources at the ground floor of FLX HQ, leadership has reserved as many as 10 tee times for what could be a historically large field for the Tour.

“The Genesee Invitational is a foundational brick of this Tour’s heritage and we look forward to bringing the best and brightest our Tour has to offer to this world-famous facility once again,” FLX leadership said in an issued statement.

Important to note for Tour pros who won’t be able to make this event due to previously scheduled engagements and commitments: The Young Man of the Year rankings in 2024 will eliminate the worst major result from the calculations. So if you can’t make it, it’s no worse that playing really shitty!

So if you can’t make the Churchville Classic (7/27), The Genesee Invitational (8/25), of the FLX Cup (10/5), you can still have a shot at the most coveted prize on Tour. If you miss two majors, well then you’re probably shit out of luck and need to reassess your priorities.

“We have two white hats left if anyone is interested, great gift for Father’s Day,” said FLX Tour Head of Content and Rules Czar Joey Mortillaro.
