Field announced for 2025 Genesee Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — FLX Tour officials announced Thursday the finalized field for the upcoming Genesee Invitational, the Tour’s third major of the season.

The annual two-man best ball tournament will take place Sunday, August 24 at the world famous Genesee Valley Golf Course. Forty young men are registered to participate for glory, honor, and cash prizes.

“It’s the biggest group we’ve ever had for the Genesee Invitational and we’re excited to keep the Tour’s momentum going as we head into the final stretch of the season,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Shane Driffill said. “With only two tournaments left, this a moment where the Young Man of the Year race starts to take shape.”

All 40 participants for the upcoming tournmaent are returning players, and of those 40, the field will be split into two groups of 20 based on handicaps. The top 20 handicaps will go into hat 1, and the bottom 20 will go into hat 2 for the team drawing, scheduled for Thursday, August 14, at 6 p.m. That show will be live streamed on the Tour Discord.

According to Tour officials, the handicap cutoff will be applied shortly before the drawing takes place, so Tour pros have one more full weekend ahead of them to juice their handicaps to get into hat 2.

“I’m gonna put up a 120 on Saturday,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Matt Driffill. “I gotta get into hat 2. I need this.”

Entry for the tournament is $25, with optional breakfast balls on holes 1 and 10 available for purchase.
