FLX Tour launches GroupMe chat for enhanced communications

ROCHESTER (FLX) — In an effort to improve communications, FLX Tour officials on Thursday launched a new chat mechanism via the GroupMe app.

“It’s been a hassle to coordinate efforts for tournaments and merch through standard text messaging due to existing technical limitations,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Matt Driffill literally just wrote. “Instead of multiple chat threads for different announcements, this will help streamline all communications within the Tour, enhancing our overall product and putting us in a better position to willingly accept that sweet, sweet Saudi money.”

The GroupMe chat is now live and can be accessed through this button:

All past and present Tour pros are invited to join what is expected to be a very lively ongoing discussion. Prospective Tour pros seeking to make their debut on Tour are also invited to check it out as FLX leadership seeks to grow the game.

Other features for this migration in addition to an expanded participant footprint include the ability to share polls, themes, other multimedia content, and schedule non-designated outings with other Tour pros.

“With the upcoming Genesee Invitational boasting the largest field in FLX Tour history, leadership believed now was the perfect time to make this move,” FLX Tour Head of Content Joey Mortillaro might have said had we asked him. “We look forward to all the shenanigans. As they say, If you let them shenan, you know they will shenanigan.”

Tour officials say this new GroupMe will also allow other Tour pros get to know their colleagues better, increasing camaraderie and improving gallery banter at official Tour functions.
