ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — It’s major week for the FLX Tour and officials announced Monday the team handicaps for Saturday’s Churchville Classic. Teams and tee times were announced last week, and the Tour will utilize the USGA reccomended 35/15 rule to calculate the numbers.

Handicaps were cut off for calucation at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, according to Tour officials.

Several Tour pros were out and about on the links this weekend in a last ditch effort to squeeze some juice out of their handicaps for the upcoming major, and with pretty even levels across the board, optimism is high among most of the contestants while others are just feeling good about their partners.

“I’m going to let Sean do his thing,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Matt Driffill said.

“Yeah, I”m going to let Tom do his thing too,” Patrick Moynihan said Monday morning at Genesee Valley.

“I just need Tim to get me there. Get me close Tim,” said Brandon Moynihan of his short game at a preview round at Churchville Saturday morning.

With the field taking shape, it’s truly anyone’s game. Except for a handful of teams who will need to punch above their weight class, but we’ve seen mircales happen before.

Handicap Calculations

* Player A & B percentage handicaps rounded to nearest tenth, team totals rounded to nearest whole number

Player A: Shane Driffill (18.5 handicap)

Player B: Nathan Wirth (36 handicap)

x/18.5 = 35/100 – x = 6.5

6.5 + 5.4 = 11.9

Team handicap = 12

Player A: Chris Miers (6.2)

Player B: Steve Nally (36)

x/6.2 = 35/100 – x = 2.2

x/36 = 15/100 – x = 5.4

2.2 + 5.4 = 7.6

Team handicap = 8

Player A: Danny Otto (15.6)

Player B: Dan Driffill (19.5)

x/15.6 = 35/100 – x = 5.5

Player B: Josh Valletta (36)
