ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — Forty-four golfers, 22 teams, and one major championship.
The annual two-man scramble returns to Churchville Golf Course on Saturday, May 30, bringing together another loaded field of FLX Tour veterans, rising stars, and first-time hopefuls for one of the most anticipated events on the calendar.
As the first major championship of the season, the Churchville Classic has become synonymous with the start of summer golf in western New York — and this year’s edition feels bigger than ever. Excitement around the league continues to grow entering the fifth season of the FLX Tour, with rivalries heating up, new names entering the mix, and plenty of unfinished business from 2025.
The official team draw will take place live on Discord on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:15 p.m. Players will once again be randomly paired from a single hat, creating the signature chaos and drama that has made the event a fan favorite.
All eyes, however, may be on Chad Christ, who enters the weekend chasing history. Christ will attempt to become the first player in FLX Tour history to win the same major championship three consecutive years.
Tournament organizers confirmed the return of the 35/15 handicap format for the scramble, helping keep the field competitive while still rewarding elite play. Entry fees remain at $25 per golfer — unchanged from last season.
“We are inflation proof,” tournament officials said in a statement nobody asked for.
Another fan-favorite wrinkle also returns this year: breakfast balls. Players will be able to purchase mulligans on holes No. 1 and No. 10 for $5 each, with proceeds boosting the winnings for the Closest to the Pin challenge.
With a wide-open field, unpredictable pairings, and major championship pressure, the stage is set for another memorable Churchville Classic.
