FLX Tour’s 4th annual Grand Open tees off Saturday at Durand Eastman

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — The FLX Tour’s signature event returns this Saturday, May 31, with the 4th annual Grand Open at scenic Durand Eastman Golf Course. Known for its rolling hills, dramatic elevation changes, and Lake Ontario views, Durand will once again serve as the stage for one of the region’s most anticipated public golf tournaments.

This year’s field features 44 players spread across 11 groups, with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp. The event promises high-stakes drama and classic FLX Tour energy, with nearly $1,000 in total prize money on the line. The top three finishers will take home $500, $250, and $100, respectively, and an additional $100 prize will be awarded for Closest to the Pin on Hole 17, a picturesque par 3 overlooking the lake.

New this year! Upgraded trophy and branded big check:

Players have the option to purchase breakfast balls — provisional mulligans available on Holes 1 and 10 for $5 apiece. These can be played at the golfer’s discretion, with the player selecting which ball to use.

A rules guide was issued to all participants in advance on FLX Tour Discord. Notably, gallery balls — drops from gallery consensus when a ball is plugged in wet but playable terrain — are allowed at the discretion of the group. Players are encouraged to use good judgment and uphold the integrity of the Tour.

The entry fee remains a modest $25, staying true to the FLX Tour’s mission of competitive, community-first public golf.
