Registration opens for FLX Tour’s 2025 Grand Open

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — The FLX Tour’s signature event is back. Registration is now open for the 2025 Grand Open, set to take place Saturday, May 31, at the historic Durand Eastman Golf Course in Rochester, New York.

This is the fourth annual Grand Open, and the stakes—and the field—continue to grow.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the first major of the season,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Shane Driffill said. “We’ve been discussing this tournament all offseason at headquarters, and we can’t wait to see who will be next to etch their names into the history book.”

“The Grand Open is the granddaddy of ‘them ’em all,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Matt Driffill said. “Winning this one means you’re forever a legend of the game; the stakes are high.”

“Push the merchandise,” FLX head of content and rules czar Joey Mortillaro said. “We need a minimum number of orders and we’re way short and the store closes on 4/18. We need to push some merchandise.”

The tournament is a singles stroke play event using net scores, calculated with player handicaps from the 18Birdies app. As with all FLX Tour majors, participants must have at least 10 rounds logged in 18Birdies to be eligible.

A $20 entry fee gets you in the mix for a projected prize pool between $800 and $1,000, depending on field size. The tradition of $5 breakfast balls on holes 1 and 10 will continue—giving players one more shot to find their swing early in the round.

The list of past champions includes some of the Tour’s most consistent performers: Tim Dorsheimer (2022), Briek Koroly (2023), and Ryan Netchke (2024). With a growing field and elevated competition, the 2025 edition is shaping up to be the most competitive yet.

Due to increased demand and limited tee time availability, registration does not guarantee entry. As is FLX tradition, tour veterans will receive the first wave of invites. After that, the registration form will be opened to the general public. Once the form closes, organizers will work with Durand Eastman staff to finalize tee time blocks based on field size and course availability. At that time, FLX Tour leadership will announce the field.
