Authorities investigating after vandals desecrate FLX Tour monument

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — FLX Tour officials announced Monday an investigation is underway after the desecration of a major championship trophy.

Sean Sawyer, a recent victor at the Genesee Invitatational, was shocked and heartbroken when he returned to his classroom at his day job and found his beloved trophy broken into two pieces.

“Authorities have been contacted and we expect a thorough, but swift resolution to this issue,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Shane Driffill said. “We can fix or replace a trophy, that isn’t a huge lift, but to find out the root cause of this problem and decipher if it was indeed a hate crime, or that FLX is being targeted, that’s what we’re worried about.”

Sources close to the situation said it didn’t seem like there was anything to the ideas of FLX being a target of such desacration, but it’s bad for content to just tell the truth.

“The matter is in police hands now,” FLX Tour Co-Commissioner Matt Driffill said. “We hope we find the little shit who did this and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Better lawyer up bucko.”

As of press time, the trophy is still in its broken state, but officials anticipate a replacement will be made in the near future.

“It’s a pretty weak trophy anyways,” said FLX Tour Head of Content and Rulez Czar Joey Mortillaro. “I think we can do better.”
