ROCHESTER, N.Y. (FLX) — Anticipation is mounting as the FLX Tour gears up for its second major championship of the season.

  • Chris Miers
  • Shane Driffill
  • Tim Dorsheimer
  • Tom Deiure

  • Steve Nally
  • Mike Converse
  • Josh Valletta
  • Nathan Wirth
  • Todd Horne
  • Alex Dooley

  • Al Gray

Deep field. Wow. Lot of action. Lot of action.

That aforementioned depth features many Tour veterans and fan favorites and others making their season debut like Todd Horne, Danny Ott, Alex Dooley, Al Gray, and Boston Slootmahker.

The Churchville Classic is, of course, a two-man scramble tournament and will employ the 35/15 rule for the handicap application.

The event will take place Saturday, July 8 at Churchville Golf Course with the first group teeing off at 7:50 a.m. Entry for the tournament is $10 per person and breakfast balls will be available for purchase for $5 at holes 1 and 10, as is standard for FLX Tour tournaments. Breakfast ball purchases will fund the closest-to-the-pin challenge and add to the total prize payouts as well.

Team pairings will be drawn live on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. Click here for the Zoom Meeting link.

Tour officials also reminded fans Thursday that merch is now available. Polos are ordered and shipped and the ball markers have been delivered. They are quite handsome. Really quite a piece of memorabilia. Don’t delay, get yours today!

Some fans have wondered if a so-called Morty Invitational scheduled for September would cause a rift on Tour. It remains to be seen what the remifcations of his jumpstart insurgent may mean for the Tour in the long run, but in the interim, surely all golf fans can agree the poster was a little cluttered. A bitt messy. Lot of info, tough fonts and color patterns. Little cluttered. Not bad, just, you know, a little cluttered.
